Daily Note ·

Notes
Daily Note · A minimal private journal
Capture a little each day, keep every day

FAQ

Where is my data stored? Is it uploaded to your servers?
By default, your journal content (text, mood, photos, etc.) is stored only on your device using SwiftData. It is not uploaded to any server operated by the developer. If you enable “iCloud Auto Sync” in Settings, data is synced across your devices via Apple iCloud (CloudKit), which is provided by Apple.
Can I recover my entries after switching phones or reinstalling?
Without iCloud sync, data stays on the device only. Uninstalling the app usually removes local data and we cannot restore it for you. With iCloud sync enabled and the same Apple ID signed in on a new device, synced entries may appear after sync completes (depending on network and system status). We recommend exporting important entries regularly as PDF or image from within the app.
Why only one entry per day? Why can I only append text when editing?
Notes is designed around one journal entry per calendar day for easier review and stats. If an entry already exists for that day, editing appends new text after the existing content. Previously written text is shown read-only in the editor to help prevent accidental deletion.
How do I create, view, or delete an entry?
Tap a date on the home calendar to view that day’s entry. Tap the + button to create or continue writing for the selected date (append mode if an entry already exists). When an entry exists, use Edit or Delete, or open it from the Month list. Deleted entries usually cannot be recovered—please proceed with care.
What does “Reset All Data” delete?
Settings → Storage → “Reset All Data” permanently deletes all journal entries in the app after two confirmations and Face ID, Touch ID, or device passcode verification. This action cannot be undone. If iCloud sync is enabled, the deletion may also sync to your iCloud account (depending on actual sync behavior).
Why does the app need Photos or Camera access?
Only when you choose to add a photo to an entry: pick one image from your library or take one with the camera. Each entry supports at most one photo. We do not access other photos in your library.
Is Face ID / Touch ID secure?
Authentication is handled locally by iOS. It protects app access and confirms sensitive actions such as “Reset All Data.” We do not collect or upload your biometric data.
How do I change language or theme?
In Settings → Display, choose System, Simplified Chinese, or English. You can also switch among four gradient themes: Twilight, Ocean, Forest, and Royal. Changes take effect immediately.
iCloud sync is not working—what should I do?
Make sure you are signed in to iCloud in system Settings and have a working network connection. After changing the “iCloud Auto Sync” toggle, fully quit the app and reopen it so the new storage mode takes effect. If the issue persists, email us below with your iOS version and a description of the problem.
Which devices and iOS versions are supported?
Notes is designed for iPhone. iOS 17 or later is recommended for full SwiftData and system feature support.
